Who Juvelook suits
- You feel your pores look large and your skin texture has become rough
- You have shallow acne scars (indented marks) spread over a wide area
- You feel your skin has become thinner and has lost firmness and density
- You are bothered by fine lines around the eyes and cheeks but don't want the "filled" look of a filler
- You prefer a natural change over several months rather than a change all at once
What Is Juvelook — How It Works
Juvelook is a collagen-stimulating skin booster that combines PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) particles, which break down slowly in the body, with hyaluronic acid. The powdered product is diluted at the clinic just before treatment and injected into the shallow layers of the skin.
- Hyaluronic acid: provides moisture and a hydrated look in the early period after treatment.
- PDLLA particles: as they gradually break down in the skin, they are known to stimulate the surrounding tissue to produce collagen.
- Because collagen takes time to form, changes build up slowly over several weeks to months rather than right after treatment.
Juvelook Skin vs Juvelook Volume
Both are PDLLA-based, but there are product lines with different purposes, particles and injection methods.
| Juvelook (Skin) | Juvelook Volume (volume line) | |
|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Skin texture, pores, shallow scars, fine lines, skin density | Subtle volume for hollow areas; support for deep scars and indented areas |
| Injection depth | Small amounts spread widely in the shallow layers of the skin | Relatively deeper layers, in chosen areas |
| Injection method | Hand injection or machine-assisted injection | Mainly hand injection (such as with a cannula) |
| Sensation | Fine, frequent pricks | A dull ache at the injection site |
| Notes | Mainly used for overall facial skin care | In Korea, it is also known by volume-line product names such as "Lenisna" |
By Concern — Pores, Acne Scars & Fine Lines
| Concern | What Juvelook does | What it is often combined with |
|---|---|---|
| Large pores and rough texture | Helps by building skin density so pores look less prominent | Pore and firming lasers |
| Shallow acne scars | Helps by gradually filling the tissue around indented marks | Fractional laser, subcision |
| Deep, narrow scars | Limited on its own; plays a supporting role | Scar lasers or subcision are often the main treatment |
| Fine lines around the eyes and cheeks | Helps soften fine lines by making the skin thicker and firmer | Dose and depth are adjusted carefully around the eyes; Botox if needed |
| Thin, sensitive skin | May help improve density | If recovery comes first, a regenerative treatment such as Rejuran is done first |
The Treatment Day Step by Step
- 1Consultation (about 20 minutes)Your doctor looks at your areas of concern and decides on the Skin or Volume line, the dose and hand or machine injection. A manager interprets for you.
- 2Cleansing and numbing cream (30–40 minutes): Numbing cream is applied over the whole face. If you are sensitive to pain, you can discuss other numbing options.
- 3Product check and dilutionYou check and see the sealed vial opened in front of you, and the dilution method is explained.
- 4Treatment (15–30 minutes)Small amounts are injected in divided portions across your areas of concern.
- 5Soothing and massage instructions (about 15 minutes): Cooling calms the heat in the skin, and you are given the massage and washing instructions that follow the clinic's guidelines.
When You'll See Results, Recommended Sessions & Intervals
| Item | Typical range |
|---|---|
| When you notice results | Builds up gradually over 1–3 months |
| Typical number of sessions | 2–3 sessions (more may be added depending on scars and skin condition) |
| Interval between sessions | At least 4 weeks |
| How long it lasts | Many people aim for around 1 year after finishing the course (varies by person) |
| Maintenance | One extra session as the effect starts to fade |
Downtime — What to Expect After Treatment
- Same daySmall bumps and redness at each injection point. They settle faster than with Rejuran, and a mask helps.
- Days 1–3Mild swelling may remain, and you may feel small lumps. Most can be covered with makeup.
- Days 3–7Any bruising fades. Small lumps mostly soften and disappear.
- Weeks 2–4As the early hydrated look fades, you may feel the effect has gone, but the collagen changes are only starting now.
- Months 1–3Changes in pores, texture and density build up slowly. You compare photos to decide when to schedule the next session.
Nodules (Lumps), Bruising & Bumps — What to Know
What nodules are
- If PDLLA particles clump together in one spot or the tissue reacts too strongly, you may feel a firm lump under the skin.
- Small lumps felt for a few days right after treatment mostly go away on their own along with the swelling, but lumps that appear later after a few weeks or that stay for a long time are rarely reported.
- Several factors are involved, such as the dilution ratio, injection depth and amount, and skin condition, so no method can bring the risk down to zero.
What helps reduce the risk
- If your clinic gives massage instructions and a duration, follow them exactly. Guidelines differ between clinics, so don't rub hard or skip it on your own.
- Choose a plan that divides the set amount across sessions rather than a large amount at once.
- For thin-skinned areas such as right around the lips and eyes, ask for the dose and depth to be explained beforehand.
- If a lump grows, hurts or turns red, don't wait it out. Tell the clinic or your manager right away.
Bruising and bumps
- Because this treatment uses a needle, small bruises can appear, and they usually fade over about 1 week.
- Bumps settle relatively quickly, but if your skin is thin or sensitive they can last more than a day.
- If you take blood-thinning medication or supplements (such as aspirin or omega-3), tell us at the consultation. Do not stop them on your own.
Timing Within Your Trip
3 nights, 4 days (1 Juvelook session)
- Day 1Arrive → consultation → treatment. With bumps and swelling, keep dinner light
- Day 2Light sightseeing is fine for most people. Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang and alcohol
- Day 3Most of it can be covered with makeup. Photos are easier from this day on.
- Day 4Check-up before departure → instructions for massage and aftercare back home
If you need several sessions
- First visit: diagnosis + 1 Juvelook session (together with a laser if needed)
- After you return home: moisturize and use sunscreen, and share photos with your manager at 2 and 4 weeks
- Next visit (at least 4 weeks later): based on your progress, the dose and areas for the next session are adjusted
How to Check It's Genuine (Please Do)
Juvelook is usually a powdered vial diluted at the clinic, so it is hard to see with your own eyes what goes in and how much. You are welcome to make the requests below.
- Before treatment, check the product name (Juvelook / Juvelook Volume, etc.) and the amount on the box and vial label.
- Check that a sealed, new vial is opened in front of you.
- Check the lot number (manufacturing number) and expiry date on the label, and ask whether you may photograph them.
- Ask for an explanation of how many vials are diluted and at what ratio.
- After the treatment, you can ask to see the empty vials that were used.
Aftercare & Warning Signs
Aftercare
- Avoid makeup on the day, and from the next day apply it lightly with gentle products.
- Only massage as your clinic instructs, and otherwise don't press or rub the injection areas hard.
- For 2–3 days, avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, alcohol and intense exercise.
- For about a week, pause exfoliation, peels and retinol products, and apply sunscreen thoroughly.
- It's safest to put off facial massage shops and radiofrequency treatments for about 2 weeks.
When to contact us right away
- Redness, swelling or pain keeps getting worse after several days
- The injection area feels hot, has pus or you have a fever
- A firm lump grows or is still there after several weeks
